The family of Rashid Conteh established the Rashid S. Conteh Memorial Foundation. The nonprofit organization supports healthcare initiatives in Rashid’s birth country of Sierra Leone, West Africa, as an ongoing memorial.

Rashid is survived by many family members and friends.
Rashid was a son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle, and friend to so many. His smile lit up any room he entered. He was empathetic, compassionate, and kind. He loved music and spending time with family and friends.
Rashid loved his friends and was loved in return. Some knew him as “RJ,” a nickname he received in middle school. Others in Sierra Leone knew him as J1, a nickname he received due to his January 1st birthday.
