Preparations are underway for the construction of a surgery center addition at the Evans Medical Center in Lungi, Sierra Leone! This milestone has been a long journey, and we’re thrilled to partner with a local medical doctor to bring this vision to life. In January 2025, Board members will gather in Lungi for the official groundbreaking ceremony.
Once completed, the surgery center will enable medical professionals to perform critical procedures such as caesarean sections, appendectomies, and hernia repairs—providing life-saving care to the community. We’ll continue sharing updates and photos as construction progresses.
We’re deeply grateful to our donors for helping us take this important step forward. While there’s still much work to do, including equipping the surgery center after construction, we’re moving ahead with optimism and determination. Sometimes progress means starting before all the pieces are in place, and we’re excited about the lives that will be transformed because of this project.
